Level 2: Monday 8:45-10:00 PM

Join Cleo for 10 weeks of sensual movement and contemporary dance technique in a safe and supportive environment. Each class will include a full body warm up, an introduction to the technical foundations of contemporary dance, conditioning, floor work drills and a progressive piece of choreography. This course is ideal for students who love connecting with their sensual, feminine energy and want to refine their musicality, artistry, dance technique and stage presence. Expect slow jams, sexy beats, low lights and sultry good times. At the end of the session, students will showcase a choreographed piece that will include a pastie reveal.

Class will be split up into two levels this session:

Level 1: For beginner level students. We will break everything down and make sure everyone feels comfortable with the basics. You will learn introductory floor work, the foundations of musicality and how to count music in a dance context, and work on taking up space on stage. This level is recommended for students with no previous dance experience or who have only taken one session of Contemporary Burlesque.

Level 2: For intermediate level students. You can expect more challenging choreography taught at a quicker pace, and progressions on the foundations learned in Level 1. We will begin to work on shoulder rolls and inversions, so you will quickly begin to feel comfortable with your feet above your head. This level is recommended for students with a minimum of two sessions of Contemporary Burlesque or who have previous dance experience

Please note that Level 1 and Level 2 will each have their own block of time dedicated to choreography, but will have their 30 minute technique class together. Cleo will be offering Level 1 and Level 2 variations during tech class.

We’ll be performing our finished routines at the VBC’s July 4 2019 Student Showcase and will receive complimentary professional stage photos and video.
